Over the years, New Idea acquired numerous equipment manufacturers and added the industry's first successful two-row corn picker in 1928, along with the Sandwich Manufacturing line of corn shellers, portable elevators, side-delivery rakes and hay loaders.
New Idea made picker-shellers that did a good job on corn. We had a 2-row narrow model 325 wiith a sheller that we used for years. We also had a 325 with a husking bed for ear corn. We pulled the sheller witrh a 170 Allis Chalmers, which is 54 HP, and it handled it well. Hopefully, I attached a pic of one with the hsking bed.

If you were just going to use it as a picker, not a picker/sheller then an M, SM, SM-TA,400,450 would be fine. With the sheller attached you will want 60-70 HP to run the picker & sheller, pull the tractor, picker and loaded wagon in most conditions. Level and dry you could get by with 45-50 HP, hilly & wet would take more.
