Analysis of Roof Failure at the Intersections on a Coal Mining
Most coal mines in the southern states of Brazil are room-and-pillar underground mining. The excavation method is still part of conventional mining and most are continuous miner methods. The roof support is with a rock bolt 1.5 to 2.2 m long, and 19 mm diameter. Most of the bolts are fully grouted bolts, even when the only suspension is needed.
